Pronunciation Guide

For a ture Aussie \ouz-'e\ sound, all the syllables should run together. Most Australian words just flow, there aren't many hard stops or changes.

Australia \ous-'trail-ya\

Acronyms/School Names

Youth With a Mission uses a lot of acronyms to describe their schools. Rather than describing them in each blog entry I have compiled a list of the most common ones to make it easier to understand
YWAM--Youth With A Mission, The internation, nondenominational, missions training organization I’m volunteering with
DTS-Discipleship Training School, first level of schools in YWAM, anyone working with YWAM is required to do a DTS, generally 6 months, first 3 months is a lecture phase with different speakers, designed to help people grow closer to God, the sceond 3 months is outreach.
B2B-Beach 2 Bush DTS--DTS focusing on the coastal and rural and coastal communities of Australia. We general run two each year
BLS-Basic Leadership School, This is a "seconrady level school" (one that requires having already done a DTS). Generally 18-20 months long. Teaches biblical leadership, during the school the students staff 2 DTS's (or SDF's) and do a 6 month logistical phase where their help out a different ministry on the campus.
Frontiers-DTS that goes on outreach to frontier nations, and unreached places. It has a focus on new missions
MAD-Music Art Dance DTS--DTS focusing on music art and dance. We run one per year and it lasts 7 months instead of the normal 6 months
SDF-School of Digital Filmmaking. This is the school I am most a part of. it is another secondary level school. It is a three month intensive course, that teaches the basics of filmmaking; everything from concept to creation.
Sports--DTS focused on using sports as the universal language to build relationships and spread the word of God
